Istanbul Day3

Steph Chasing Pigeons

Suleymaniye Mosque
(from the side aisle looking toward the central nave)

(the central nave)

an aqueduct
(running in towards the city center)

Sehzade Mosque
(forecourt)

(there was some kind of meeting or something going on)

(this was the Mosque where all the men were using the women's bathroom, and they told me I wasn't allowed to pee... grrr...)

Archaeological Museum
(had it been warmer, it would have been nice to sketch this piazza)

(these stairs were frighteningly thin)

(this piece was made from one pice of marble containing two different colors, it was really cool and required a double-take)

(a detail on one of the Egyptian Sarcophagi)

Carpet shopping @ Uncle Izmet's
(the carpets here were some of the special ones he shared with us even though none of us would have been able to purchase them)
